Our Grade 5 mathematicians have been diving deep into the world of geometry! The objective was all about clarity and definition: I can draw rectangles and rhombuses to clarify their attributes, and define them based on those attributes. ✍️📐

It’s one thing to recognize a shape, but it’s another to construct it with mathematical precision. Students applied their understanding of math tools, including rulers, set squares, and protractors, to ensure every angle was exact and every side was perfectly proportional. 🎯

The lesson focused on the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system. Students learned how to navigate the library like pros, using DDC numbers to locate specific topics and genres. This exercise is a fantastic way for them to Apply their critical thinking and organizational skills, turning a wall of books into a manageable map of knowledge. 🗺️

Our students Explore the library not just as a room full of books, but as a gateway to independent learning. Seeing our 4th graders take ownership of their reading journey is truly inspiring! 📖✨

Our Grade 1 students recently turned into literary detectives! The excitement began when a mysterious ”message in a bottle“ was discovered, leading our young learners on a mission outside to the secret Story Tree. 🔎🌳

Under the shade of the tree, students found a hidden package containing a book, candy, and new fidget toys. This wasn’t just a treat; it was a sensory spark designed to build their reading muscles and fuel their curiosity. As they ate their candy and listened to the story, they practiced their mindfulness, using all of their senses to fully immerse themselves in the adventure. 🍬📖

The journey didn‘t end when the book was closed. Back in the classroom, students stepped into the role of authors to Apply what they learned. Using a ”First, Next, Last“ structure, they practiced predicting what might happen after the final page, showing incredible creativity.

At KKFS, we Explore stories by living them! By acting as both detectives and writers, our Grade 1 students are learning that reading is an adventure they can actively participate in. What a wonderful way to grow as thinkers and creators! ✍️

We recently remodeled and opened up our back garde

We recently remodeled and opened up our back garden space just in time for Spring! 🌸 This vibrant new space is designed to be a hub for both active play and creative expression for our KKFS students. Our Elementary School is also about to get a lot greener! Over the next few months, the students will be putting their ‘green thumbs’ to work, planting and tending to their own class crops.🌱

From the challenging rope bridge to our massive outdoor chalkboard, where students can apply their creativity, there is something for everyone. This area allows our students to explore their limits, whether they are navigating the climbing structures, turning seeds into plants, or collaborating on a mural in the “KKFS Garden.” 🧑‍🌾✨

We can’t wait to see the many memories, creations, and friendships that will sprout right here in our own backyard!

✨ES Platform Day 2! ✨
The Art Hall was alive with energy once again for the second day of our Elementary School Platform! From high-energy cheerleading and rhythmic jump rope routines to soulful singing, classical piano, and even the enchanting sounds of the lever harp, our students truly brought their “A-game” to the stage. 💯

Watching such a diverse range of talents was a masterclass in Creativity. Whether it was the athletic coordination of the jump rope team or the focused mindfulness required to play the harp, every performer showed incredible courage in sharing their hard work with the community. 🌟

Congratulations to all our Day 2 performers! You made our school community very proud! And a special thanks to our audience for cheering loudly for every single act. ❤️

Our talented young performers took to the stage to share their passions, from singing and dancing to playing piano. This isn’t just a talent show; it’s a wonderful opportunity for our students to Apply the courage and optimism they’ve been building in the classroom to a live audience.

At KKFS, the Platform is where we Explore our creative identities and Reflect on the joy of sharing our gifts with the community. We are so proud of all of our performers today and the audience for cheering and clapping along!

Our Middle School students recently gathered for an insightful assembly focused on a challenge we all face: navigating the digital world. Guided by one of our Social-Emotional Needs Counselors, the session dived into the importance of self-control when it comes to our devices. We explored the thin line between digital entertainment and chronic screen usage, learning how to identify the signs of "screen addiction" and understanding how it impacts our focus and well-being. 🧠

Students were encouraged to explore their own digital habits with honesty. They took time to reflect on how much time they spend behind a screen versus engaging with the world around them. Finally, our counselor provided practical strategies to help students apply better boundaries, such as setting "tech-free" zones and using app timers to reclaim their time and attention. ⏳💪

The assembly concluded with a reminder that it’s okay to ask for a hand if the digital pull feels too strong. Whether it’s talking to a teacher, a parent, or visiting our counseling office, help is always available. Let’s continue to practice self-control and support one another in staying present! 🤝❤️🖤🤍
