It wasn‘t just a solo effort; teammates worked in constant collaboration, supporting their speakers by providing fresh ideas and counterpoints from the sidelines. 🤝

By turning a debate into a team-based ”boxing match,“ our students learned that the best defense is a well-thought-out offense built on active listening and sharp reasoning. 🏆

Our scientists dove into an immersive hands-on lab to answer our unit question: "How do the different body systems work together to keep an organism alive, and how can we use this understanding to analyze a frog’s anatomy?" 🔎

The lab provided a unique opportunity for students to explore the intricate layout of frog organs, identifying how each part contributes to the survival of the organism. By observing these structures firsthand, they were able to reflect on the remarkable similarities and key differences between amphibian and human organ systems, gaining a deeper appreciation for biological functions. 🐸🔗👨🏼

Finally, students applied their classroom knowledge to analyze how these systems, from respiratory to circulatory, work in harmony to maintain life. This comparative study not only strengthened their understanding of anatomy but also sharpened their skills in evidence-based scientific observation. 🧪✨

During this immersive session, students explored advanced composition techniques and the delicate art of utilizing natural light to create depth and mood. This experience allowed them to reflect on how perspective and lighting can transform a simple environment into a powerful visual narrative, ultimately applying these professional skills to capture stunning, high-quality images of the world around them.

Our Spanish students recently took their taste buds on a field trip to Mexicali! Located near Achasan Station and KKFS, this family-style restaurant specializes in authentic Northern Mexican cuisine, the very region where Mr. Dominguez was born. 🇲🇽🐍🦅

Before sitting down to enjoy their meal, students had to pass a quick Spanish vocabulary entrance ticket to earn their seats. Once inside, they mastered the essential phrase "Buen provecho," the Spanish equivalent of bon appétit, as a polite way to wish others a wonderful dining experience.🤝

Living our school motto, students explored the vibrant spices and aromas of Mexico, reflected on how food acts as a universal language connecting different heritages, and are now ready to apply this cultural appreciation by sharing a warm "Buen provecho!" at our next school lunch. 🌯

Our High School Physics students recently took their learning to the next level by stepping into the roles of engineers and scientists! The hallway became a testing ground as students engaged in a hands-on ”Designing and Testing a Catapult“ activity. 📐👷

The core mission of the day was to Apply complex scientific principles to a working model. By following the Engineering Design Process, students moved from brainstorming and planning to building and testing their designs. Students had to collect data from multiple trials, Reflect on that data, and identify patterns to improve their performance. Teams then shared their findings and used evidence to refine their designs. 📝

Our Grade 7 scientists are digging deep into the Earth's past to solve a modern-day mystery: Why are natural resources like coal, oil, and gas found in some places and not others?

In this Geoscience unit, students are practicing systems thinking to understand the "uneven distribution" of non-renewable resources. By analyzing ancient climates and geological conditions, they learned that a coal mine today was actually a swampy forest millions of years ago! This required students to reflect on Earth’s long history to explain modern-day geography. 🗺️

To Apply their knowledge, students modeled localized environments, justifying the presence of specific resources based on simulated history. They weren't just memorizing facts; they were using critical thinking and evidence-based reasoning to construct arguments about why human activities, like mining, happen exactly where they do. ⚒️
