Air Pollution Guidelines

The goal of these guidelines is to ensure the safety and well-being of our students by regulating outdoor playtime

based on air quality conditions. By adhering to this policy, we aim to minimize students' exposure to unhealthy

air quality levels while promoting opportunities for physical activity when conditions are safe.

Daily Air Quality Monitoring:

The school will utilize the IQAir website (www.iqair.com) to check the Air Quality Index (AQI) for our area daily.

The AQI will be assessed at 8:00 AM for morning activities and 10:30 AM for afternoon activities to ensure the most accurate

and up-to-date information is considered when determining the status of outdoor playtime or outdoor PE lessons.

Guidelines for Outdoor Playtime:

AQI of 150 or Below:

○ All students will have outdoor break time as scheduled.

○ Faculty members will be informed that outdoor activities are safe by 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM

AQI Above 150:

○ All students will have indoor break time.

○ Faculty members will be informed that outdoor activities are unsafe by 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM

Face Masks:

○ It is strongly recommended that you send your child to school with at least 1 face mask with a rating of KF-94 or higher.

On days where the AQI is between 100-149, students will be encouraged to wear their masks during outdoor play time.

By implementing this policy, we prioritize the health and safety of our students while maintaining an active and

engaging school environment.

Thank you for your continued support in ensuring a safe learning environment for our students.

Best regards,
