This event was a brilliant way for our learners to explore the library’s resources in a hands-on way. Students faced challenges where they had to navigate the shelves, decode clues, and use their grit to solve challenges. 🔎

The dance floor was electric yesterday as our Elementary School students celebrated the upcoming end of the school year in spectacular fashion at our ES Disco Party! 🪩

Dressed up and ready to groove, our young Merlins experienced the fun of a true dance party atmosphere, complete with flashing neon lights and glowing light sticks. They celebrated a wonderful year of friendships and achievements while sharing laughs and making unforgettable memories together on the floor. Then showed off their best dance moves, jumping into the music to make a conga line and enjoying tasty snacks with their peers! 💃🕺

It was the perfect afternoon of pure joy and showcased the vibrant spirit of our elementary community. Congratulations on another wonderful year Elementary School! 🎉🥳

Our Physical Computing Club brings together creative minds from middle and high school to turn imagination into innovation! Using Python, these brilliant makers have explored hardware engineering by transforming pocket-sized BBC micro:bits into light-theremins, digital treasure pointers, proximity alarms, and voice synthesizers. 🤖💻

In their latest project, students reflected on wireless communication and applied their coding logic to build tilt-controlled, remote-driven robotic cars! By programming two micro:bits to communicate seamlessly over radio waves, they brought their custom vehicles to life. 🏎️📡

Our 6th-grade scientists stepped into the shoes of aerospace and environmental engineers three weeks ago as they took on an intense, hands-on design challenge to beat extreme climates! 🔎🧑‍🔬

Working like true lab researchers, students moved through a rigorous engineering cycle:
Design & Build: Engineering a product prototype specifically designed to help humans survive in Earth’s most extreme climates.
Test & Analyze: Putting their physical designs to the test and collecting real-time data on thermal energy transfer to see how well their insulators performed.
Iterate: Brainstorming modifications by sharing data and collaborating with competing design teams to upgrade their prototypes.

This STEM challenge allowed students to explore the physics of thermodynamics, reflect on how heat moves through different conductive and insulating materials, and apply their findings to modify and perfect their creations. Watching our 6th graders mix intense collaboration with data-driven critical thinking proved that they are well on their way to solving real-world global challenges! 🤓🌏

Our High School students recently teamed up with our 5th-grade Spanish class for an exciting cultural exchange, stepping into the vibrant world of Mexican traditions by playing ”Lotería,“ a traditional Mexican bingo game! 🇲🇽

This interactive activity was a wonderful opportunity for cross-divisional learning. Our 5th graders got to explore authentic Mexican culture and vocabulary in a fun, dynamic setting, while our high schoolers reflected on their own language skills as they stepped into mentorship roles. Together, both groups applied their Spanish listening and speaking skills in real time to call out cards, match images, and shout ”¡Lotería!“ 🗣️

Through games like this, our students build strong bonds across grade levels, turning language acquisition into an experience rooted in collaboration and global awareness. ¡Buen trabajo, Merlins! 🤝

Last Saturday, KKFS put together 2 boys teams and 1 girls team to compete at the Songdo 3x3 tournament. A bit different than a full-court basketball game, 3x3 is simple and flexible enough to be played anywhere by anybody. All you need is a hoop, a half-court and six players. This game is fast, spectacular and exciting.

Our basketball squads did very well! In separate divisions, HS girls placed 4th, MS boys placed 3rd, and HS boys took 1st place. Well done, hoopers! 🥇🏆🏀

Out of all of our wonderful Elementary School library class students, two exceptional readers have shown an extraordinary love for books throughout the school year. By delving into countless stories, these students have explored magical new worlds, met wonderful new characters, and learned timeless lessons, all while growing their vocabulary and imagination both inside and outside the classroom. Their dedication to reading shows the kind of grit and curiosity we love to see in our young learners! 📖🐛

Through their hard work in the classroom, our youngest learners showed great focus and dedication. Stepping outside allowed them to explore the open air, reflect on their accomplishments through unstructured play, and apply their social skills and imagination as they ran, climbed, and laughed together. ✨
