Elementary School Music

  • At KKFS, our Elementary Music program introduces students to the joy of making music while building foundational skills in rhythm, melody, and expression. Guided by the NAfME standards, students explore singing, playing instruments, moving to music, and beginning notation. Through creative activities and performances, they develop listening skills, cultural awareness, and a lifelong appreciation for music as both an art form and a means of self-expression.

Middle School Music

  • In Middle School, music education expands into deeper exploration of musical concepts, performance, and composition. Students engage with a variety of instruments, vocal practices, and ensemble work, while also learning to analyze and reflect on music from diverse cultures and time periods. Aligned with the NAfME standards, instruction emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and critical listening, allowing students to explore their musical identity and apply their skills in increasingly complex contexts.

High School Music

  • The High School Music program at KKFS provides students with advanced opportunities to perform, create, and study music at a high level. Through band, choir, and other ensemble experiences, students refine technical skills, strengthen performance abilities, and deepen their understanding of music theory and history. Following the NAfME standards, students are encouraged to compose, improvise, and critically evaluate music across genres and cultures. Advanced opportunities, including AP Music Theory, prepare students for continued study in college while cultivating creativity, discipline, and a passion for artistic excellence.
