Overview
Our Language Support team is guided by the WIDA Standards and Assessments, which provide a framework for developing students’ academic language across listening, speaking, reading, and writing. By using WIDA’s tools, we are able to monitor growth, set individualized goals, and design targeted instruction that supports English learners in accessing grade-level content. This approach ensures that language development is integrated into every subject area while fostering confidence, communication skills, and success in a multilingual environment.
Pull-out ELL
Our ELL program supports students with targeted language instruction outside the mainstream classroom. Students are grouped according to their proficiency levels and individual learning needs, allowing us to deliver focused lessons that build their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. ELL teachers work closely with the classroom teachers to ensure alignment with the curriculum, helping students bridge language gaps while fully participating in their academic journey. In addition, our Explore, Reflect, Apply philosophy fosters confidence and academic independence, essential traits that ELL students can transfer into their regular classroom experiences.
Push-in ELL
Our push-in ELL program works in conjunction with our pull-out program to ensure students receive consistent language development across subjects. ELL teachers join students inside their mainstream classroom, providing real-time language support seamlessly during the lessons. This allows students to access grade level content while receiving targeted assistance with vocabulary and grammar. ELL teachers work closely with classroom teachers to help reinforce lesson objectives and promote full classroom participation to ensure that language development and content learning occur simultaneously.
